Adrenaline at HK Jockey Club - (Hong Kong)

Adrenaline is one of the VIP booths alongside the Happy Valley race course and interestingly doesn’t require the prestigious HK Jockey Club Membership status to enjoy this space - although it’s open to public, you are advised to book well ahead in advance due to burgeoning popularity on racing days as word is spreading fast. Over here at Adrenaline the unlimited food offerings is only $290 for all you can eat and you have your own reserved sofa, and they are also running a Wednesday Magic show until the end of April 2013.

Overlooking the Green Course -
Apparently the grass patches are imported from Melbourne’s Flemington Course.

Adrenaline Upstairs -
Pre-book a table here for around $290 each, including an All You Can Eat Buffet and exclusive sofa to relax on. Even without food this is a bargain just to reserve your own spot on racing day.

Cocktail by the Racing Course in the open -
Lovely spot over-looking the HK Happy Valley Racecourse on a Wednesday.

Buffet Starting..
All you can eat sauteed prawns in chili and herbs.

Macaroni & Cheese -
This was simply brilliant, from the white sauce, gratination to the well-cooked pasta shells. A lot of places provide this but not many do it to this level and I cross-checked with a few top ups. ~ 8/10

Roasted Cauliflowers -
Cooked well and not worn out or mushy like you encounter in most other buffets. ~ 8/10

Beef Wrap with Asparagus -
In a Japanese style teriyaki sauce. ~ 7/10

Crab Cakes -
Surprisingly not the wet soggy type you encounter at so many buffets, including some currently Michelin 1 Starred shops! This was chunky enough and packed with crab sweetness. For a buffet setting, this was punching above it’s weight for sure.. ~ 8/10

Pizza -
Looked edible I suppose. Didn’t get around to eating a slice...

Cold Meats -
This plate was mostly sliced cured veal tongues. How many places in HK do u remember that serves this version unlimited? Interesting chacuterie selection here.. ~ 9/10

Salads -
Part of the selection, and more with the green leaves on the other side on the right.

Foie Gras Pate en Croute in Pastry -
This had a jellied top and was smooth and gamey. At a $290 buffet with reserved sitting in the Jockey Club, surely I should be happy with this consummate performance? ~ 8/10

Goat Cheese Terrine -
Another rarer to find buffet item.

My big plate of Gravlax Salmon, Mortadella,
Prosciutto Cotto cooked ham, Salami, Tongues -

More is more !
Even had cous cous under my Gravlax salmon and Caper Berry..

Mac & Cheese, Crab Cakes with Salsa, Cauliflower -
All done surprisingly well here.

As is the Repertoire of a Magician -
2 guests were invited on stage and they seem pretty amazed by his ‘magical’ performance live!

Remotely moving and picking out single cards using his shadow! Wicked..

There are a few ladies who can help you if you’re stuck on ideas, and who proved to be quite accurate with their tips on how to gamble. Definitely worth seeking out on after my losing streak experience. Flirt female

I had just put a $100 wager on a Turtle ..

More Magic Shows after a few races and one of my Turtles I bet on,
ended up winning me $300 - Not much but it’s all symbolic in the end

Desserts -
Food and desserts here are actually executed pretty well and thoughtful.
That’s the biggest finding today! It’s a good overall package indeed..
