Yakitori Ya (燒鳥屋) - ♕♕♕ 1/2

Agent W. was back to her best as my spy news informant, who’d told me last week to come check  out this new Yakitori hole-in-the-wall opened by a Japanese boss, found in a busy side street of Mongkok.  Yakitori Sticks and Fried Chicken Tatsuta-age are cheap here, priced at around $8 to $10 each stick!!

Nankotsu Chicken Cartilages were surprisingly good..

Bacon with Quail Eggs, Grilled Chicken, Beef (Sirloin) can be ordered
with Salt rather than with Sauce. For the price, I thought these were more than edible!

  1. Now THAT is good cheap tasty looking Japanese street food. I'm getting sick of paying $$$$ for mediocre yakitori at my izakaya or yakitori-ya.

The way you phrased it, it seems that there's tons of food stalls in Mong Kok offering Taiwanese snacks and tapioca/bubble tea, as if that is the latest trend! This is pretty interesting. Are there more Taiwanese snack vendors now than HK style street food egg puff/curry fishball skewer type vendors?

  2. Yes, along the side streets closer to Dundas Street, the Taiwanese stalls seem to have taken complete control!

There seems to be only one big fishball stall and may be 2 shops selling pig or cow innards :P

Its weird finding this yakitori place here, and at the the meat aren't overly tenderised like the HK sticks!
