The HK Branch of Tim’s Kitchen recently moved 1 street away to a much bigger premise, and had since started introducing a lunch menu. We were keen to give it a go before deciding to come here to try out more exquisite dishes for dinner…
Fillings were good, but this was served fairly cold ~ 7/10
Har Gow (Prawn Dumplings) -
This had a pretty loose, melty skin.
But the prawn and bamboo shoots stuffing was excellent ~ 8/10
Steamed Pork Ribs -
Fairly garlicky. Silky texture, but too strong in flavour ~ 6.5/10
Siu Mai with Crab Roe -
This was ordinary, a bit too meaty ~ 6.5/10
Snake Soup Set for just above $100..
Lap Cheong and Liver Sausages were good, but cold
Snake Soup -
Finely julienned snake and pork meat and fungus,
very good ‘clear broth’ type of taste. Great. But served way too cold,
a recurrent problem by now ~ 7.5/10
Crackling puffs, Lemony Herbs, Chrysanthemum for
putting into Snake Soup.
Pork Liver Cheung Fan -
This was ok, just a bit thick ~ 7/10
Sticky Rice Chicken -
Overcooked, mushy, the fillings were surprisingly boring and tasteless. Very disappointing, as Tim Ho Wan (Mong Kok) beats here hands down ~
3/10
Traditional Pork Belly and Taro Wrap -
The oldie’s favourite. This version was so dry and bland, the ones served in 新興食家 at 1/4 the price were much better, unbelievable ~ 4/10
Yawn. Dried and boring. At least this one was served hot..
Crab Meat with E-Fu noodles -
Out came another cold dish. The noodles were tasteless, which is hard to achieve as E-Fu noodles are normally full of natural wheaty taste.
Good amount of crab meat though...
Appearance can be deceiving. This was a tasteless dish ~ 4/10
At least Pu-Er tea was good,
after the 2nd round.
Price: $150 Per Person + 10%
Lunch Score: ★★★☆☆☆
