Fat Kei (發記腸粉粥品) - ♕♕♕♕

There is only one thing that I will wholeheartedly recommend here, and that is their fresh Chicken and Pork Liver congee.  Whole Chickens cooked in Congee is apparently more of a Sha Tin locals dish, but Yuen Long is very famous for its fresh chickens and there are at least 4-5 shops in the area which slaughters them fresh daily and with the meat eaten together with the chicken innards, such as here at this congee and noodles shop.  Unfortunately, the other items aren’t worth a mention…

元朗雞蛋腸粉 -
Fresh eggs and Rice Flour Roll sounds interesting, but was a bit thick and dry and a little different to our expectations from the menu description  ~ 6/10

鮮雞鮮豬膶粥 -
Fresh Chicken and Pork Liver Congee was very aromatic, to the point you can literally smell the chicken essence.  Very beautiful congee and the rice cooked to a starchy state.  In fact, the chicken to congee ratio was a bit too high to my liking, but perhaps that’s what has contributed to the depth of flavour  ~ 9/10

鮮豬膶 – Fresh Pork Livers are a little too Crunchy to be natural.
新九記粥麵 does a much better version, despite both using fresh ingredients..

炸兩 -
Rice Flour Roll Cheung Fan is wrapped around Chinese Crullers, an essential breakfast or supper dish, here its a little too soft and cold ~  5/10

Seems to be very full!
The Congees are good… but I’d say, forget about ordering the other stuff!
Concentrate on the main thing..
