Chef Mickey @ Disneyland - ( Hong Kong )

We bunch of foodies ended up visiting Hong Kong’s Disneyland twice during the end of 2012 and it was actually my 1st time ! – our 1st trip began at one of their buffet restaurants Chef Mickey which is found inside the Disneyland’s Hollywood Hotel.   You will need to take a free ride on the shuttle bus from the train station to this Hollywood Hotel to reach this restaurant.  At only $280 for unlimited refills,  the food was prepared neatly and I think it’s worthwhile to take your kids to eat at this venue.   We found more value for money here than at some other Disney restaurants inside in comparison.

Cold Cut Platter -
At this price point,  this was more than decent.  Obviously don’t expect artisanal charcuterie flown in from Lyon and Jabugo.

Sashimi -
Better than a lot of other buffet restaurants in terms of fish selection and freshness at this price point.

Dim Sums,  Dumplings and Lotus Leaf wrapped Glutinous Rice -
Tried a few of these and they were surprisingly decent.

Prawn Dumplings -
Not bad for a buffet I am telling you!  It’s actually better than a lot of restaurants.

Some Other Food -
The grilled beef in particular was impressive and cooked evenly pink.  So was the duck next to it.

Excuse the manners.  I wanted a bit of everything.   I have got to say that beef was impressive,  and so was the fish and chips and some of the dumplings.   As soon as you enter Disneyland,  you already knew that for the rest of the day down to your penultimate and last meal will be making Disney’s shares go up.  And personally I believe spending $280 here is more value for money than at some other restaurants inside the Theme Park complex…

Mickey Waffles -
Similar items whether savoury or sweet are found throughout the park,  but guess what – the version here was actually the best and it was all you can eat!

Some of the Other Desserts -
See what I am getting at?  Everything is presented neatly.   One usually pays a premium to dine inside Theme Parks and this assumption also rings true here in other restaurants.   But for some reason Chef Mickey is outright the most Value for Money vs Quality restaurants..
