The website says it’s selling Italian food and that is also what I remembered from the past. But things do change and evolve, and now it’s just selling whatever works to push business turnover - and this currently comprises of the usual café food offerings and a few Mexican items thrown into the mix. The bottom line is, as long as the food is good and the price is right, customers will return. I must say the result turned out pretty satisfactorily, as I was lured in by their bargain $10 Wagyu Beef burger when visiting some nearby artisanal cafés…
Casual -
Friendly but aloof service. But its all about the food..
The Home Made Tomato Sauce is addictive -
Also a few Mexican chili sauces and non-commercial grade Salt and Pepper.
Mushroom Soup with Goats Curd, Spinach and Baguette -
This was presented beautifully and drank equally satisfactory. At only around $10 this was a hearty soup full of forest mushroomy fragrance. A little too oily though ~ 8/10
175G Fresh Ground Wagyu Beef, Grilled Brioche, Baby Cos Lettuce, Thick Cut Tomato and House Made Pickles - AUD $10. Added $1.5 for Monterey Jack Cheese
This was a bit tinier than expected but the taste was good. The home cured pickles were really good, and the burger bun was buttery and thoughtful. The Wagyu patty was not overcooked like the previous review, and had a nice wagyu taste to it. CHEAP ! ~ 8/10
Fries - AUD $3
Fried really well, in fact these were easily the best fries I’ve had so far down south. The home made ketchup was also decent and naturally sweet, unlike the bottled stuff.

Was a little impressed by a relatively unknown shop,
their other items are mostly home made as well and probably worth another return visit!

ReplyDeleteI think this shop definitely has 'heart' put into their food. Whether they all work, is another problem : )
