La Creperie [ Hong Kong ] - Buckwheat Galette to Fall Back on Anytime

La Creperie was originally set up in Shanghai side,  but much like Fofo by El Willy,  both trickled down to Hong Kong.  I have to say we are lucky as diners because prior to their arrival,  the quality of galettes or crepes were not very authentic tasting.  Actually even to this day,  some of the other French Cafes or Creperie don't make it quite as accurate like here..

Galette ' La Complete ' - $88

Nowadays the three HK La Creperie outlets carry a few new items and they are tempting.  For some reason,  this time I just wanted something traditional Breton - with Fried Egg,  Ham and Emmental Cheese.  Folded inside a buckwheat Galette de Sarrasin properly.  It is slightly crispy and has plenty of buckwheat taste,  not dissimilar to the ones in Brittany,  Normandy or even Paris.  One edge of this was slightly burnt today but I will take it.  ~  8/10

Duck Confit and Duck Breast Salad with Pine nuts,  Haricot Beans,  Cherry Tomatoes, etc - $138

The portion was generous.  This duck salad is also served on top of a galette crepe itself.  The amount of meat vs vegetables ratio was just about perfect to me.  On Instagram I was saying how the thickish Vinegary glaze was well balanced,  rather than those ubiquitous, generic and very acidic Vinaigrette emulsion.   For once I was happy with my salad...  and although no Duck Gizzards here,  it also feels less guilty.  ~  8/10
