Little Creatures [ Hong Kong ] - Craft Beer from Perth Australia, Now in Hong Kong at Kennedy Town

Little Creatures from Perth Australia has opened up their new Craft Beer & Restaurant in Hong Kong's Kennedy Town.  As an avid fan of their beers all these years when I was living in Australia,  and having visited their Melbourne outlets previously,  I was so excited to experience them again this time in Hong Kong!   Thanks to Voltage PR and Little Creatures HK for organizing this Tasting Event and to familiarize ourselves with their HK Outlet,  as I noticed the food menu is slightly different from the Aussie counterparts too..

Brewing Tanks -
The Beers come out icy cold at 3C Degrees,  although we were told to warm up the beers a bit first in order to extract the floral aroma..

A Flight of both Little Creatures & White Rabbit Beers - from Australia
The House Brew here changes on rotation.  My favorites were the IPA Indian Pale Ale which is not overly bitter nor too sweet,  it's quite British in style.   The White Rabbit White Ale was citrusy and emulating the Belgian experience,  going perfectly with the Blue Mussels dish.  Little Creatures is more about the Ale beers spectrum apparently,  compared to the other end of Lager beers.

Bruschette with Heirloom Tomatoes, Olives, Basil & Parmesan Cheese - $75
This was quite refreshing,  although I wished mine piece had a more sturdier toasted bread and also more basil leaves...

Smashed Avocado Bowl, with Crispy Tortilla, Tomatoes and Coriander - $75
Always a crowd pleaser when it comes to Avocado or Guacamole ...

Corn on the Cob,  with Crispy Quinoa and Japanese Kewpie Mayonnaise with Curry - $65
This proved quite popular.  It's a little different from the Mexican style Elotes,  the crispy red quinoa coating was definitely interesting.  The curry spice however was not too apparent..

Grilled Halloumi Cheese, Peppers, Oregano Leaves and Pomegranate Molasses - $100
Thick slabs of Halloumi cheeses with a grilled surface.  Always a lovely favorite,  we were saying how we also miss Greek Saganaki cheese too,  which is rare to find in HK.

Home Made Sausage, Fennel, Sage,  Bacon, Provolone Cheese - $120
The pork flavor within was quite strong,  and this also carried quite a bit of herb influence.

Kale Pizza with Green Basil Pesto, Parmesan Cheese & Onions - $110
Fun to eat this Vegetarian Pizza,  especially when the Kale softened down a bit when wilting from the residual heat on the pizza base ..

Angus Beef Sliders,  Truffle Mayo,  House Pickles - $120
The minced beef flavor was really strong.  I think the patties were nice but could be more burnt-cooked,  just to give it that crispy external layer and charred flavor?

Grilled Whole Spring French Chicken,  Cashew Nuts,  Caramelized Lemon and Mustard Sauce - $210
This proved to be popular,  especially with the charred lemon and mustard sauce,  also a good marination on the French Baby Chicken.

Steamed Blue Mussels,  White Wine,  Thyme & Parsley Butter - $165
Probably one of my favorite dishes on the night,  the base soup was inundated with the Mussels jus,  and the Thyme really added the dimension to the mussels.  It's safe to assume we all liked dipping the fries into this to eat!

Grass Fed Rib-eye Steak with Chimichurri Sauce,  Pea Shoots - $295
This was interesting because apart from being well charred on the outside,  we noted that the fat marbling flavor actually resembled that from a Wagyu,  or an F1 Wagyu.  Interesting finding and we tried another Steak afterwards and it was equally as nice..

Orecchiette Pasta with Basil Pesto,  Oven Dried Tomatoes & Parmesan Cheese  - $95
It didn't say so,  but I thought this carried quite a bit of chunkily grinded nuts in the sauce.

Hand Cut Frites with Truffle Mayo - $65
Thrice cooked after low temperature frying,  and subsequently high heat to finish them crispy surface.  The truffle mayo dip was a nice touch.

Mac & Cheese, Truffle & Herbs Crust - $75
Chef previously worked at Lily & Bloom,  famous for their Mac & Cheese.  Here it was quite nice indeed,  although so far I still love the one at Porterhouse by Laris the most for now,  until I find an alternative venue to go..

Pear Tarte Tatin -
The pastry was well caramelized and crisp,  flaky.  The pears were also baked well and just right,  it also comes with a Pistachio ice cream.  Overall Little Creatures Hong Kong was affordable and the food items are very Gastro Pub.  Definitely warranting a return visit very soon!
