Tommy Bahama’s Marlin Bar - (Hong Kong)

Tommy Bahama is a clothing and apparels company from Seattle,  and they have recently expanded into Asia region in Japan and Hong Kong.   I have noticed a Bar area on the corner side for a while but which is usually pretty quiet.   This visit was an invitation for a Mixology Class here,  and I definitely found one reason to return back again and again  -  their Grilled Lobster Sandwich with 3 Cheeses was so good!!

Unlike ice,  they won’t melt and dilute the flavours..

Christmas Gifts are ready !
Come to think of it,  Tommy Bahama will be an ideal place to buy Xmas gifts,
especially for men.

Flip Flop Orange – $95
Grey Goose L’Orange,  Cointreau,  Scratch Sour,  Orange and Li Hing Mui ‘dried plum’ powder.  This was quite addictive especially with the plum powder on the glass rim,  although the Grey Goose Orange vodka is quite powerful!   ~  7/10

Mai Tai - Bacardi Superior, Orgeat, Orange Curacao, Lemon, Pineapple & Dark Rum $85
This was made by me yay !
Nice recipe and was surprised that rum and the citrusy inputs balanced up so well…

Ahi Tuna Tacos -
This is on the lunch menu I believe.   There’s a lot of tuna and a bit of avocado,  frisee etc.  Nice flavours but it’s quite strong in sesame oil.   ~  7.5/10

Pork Quesadilla – $115
This has pulled pork inside but the normal version is thicker than this,  and also comes with Mango salsa,  Lime sour cream and Pineapple.   ~  N/A as this was the party food version

Ahi Poke Tuna Napoleon – $130
With herbed crostini,  sesame and oil,  capers, Guacamole.   Basically the same filling as the Taco above,  but eaten more like an Ahi Poke.   This was pretty decent and once again had a lot of sesame oil.   ~  7/10

Cheese and Charcuterie Platter – $130
Vienna Baguette bread,  Macadamia nuts, some salumi and 3 cheeses including a blue.  This was well priced although with the naming,  somehow I expected more cured charcuterie meats.  ~  7/10

Lobster Grilled Cheese – $155
The highlight of the night! This is a special item only available in Hong Kong Tommy Bahama, with Maine Lobster meat and 3 types of cheese, and grilled Pineapples. The sourdough bread was aromatic and supplied by Levain Bakery, and the lobster meat had a good seasoning and taste and the cheeses didn’t overpower either. Super yummy. ~ 10/10
