Saffron 尚坊, Banyan Tree [ Macau ] - Trying out Their New Dishes, Pretty Impressive !

Saffron at Macau's Banyan Tree is currently introducing some new Thai Dishes,  and thanks to friends organizing this meal, we ended up trying some of these new offerings.

Rice Puff Crackers with 3 Dipping Sauces -
Chicken with Coconut,  Dried Shrimps with Chili,  Spicy Eggplant

Coconut Juice -
Why does Coconut juice go so well with Thai food!

Salmon Salad with Lime and Fish Sauce Dressing -
This was really refreshing,  with a hint of sourness and spiciness,  and a bit of mint

Fried Oyster,  Spicy Sauce with Green Mango Salad -
Interesting this combination,  pairing fried oysters with a mango salad, this was such a summery dish too!

Fried Squid with Sriracha Mayo Sauce -
I like the idea,  but I think the batter on this was a little too thick and fried a bit hard.   Probably just a once off...

Deep Fried then Stir Fried Lobster with Salted Egg yolk Sauce,  topped with some Caviar -
I love Thai style Fried Lobsters.  This one was sensationally done..

Fried Chicken Wing with Tamarind Sauce -
The outside is coated with some crushed peanuts,  and there is a slightly spicy sauce on top

Grilled Chicken Salad -
The salad had an appetizing almost zesty dressing,  and at the same time it's quite minty

Stir Fried USDA Angus Beef -
It was actually quite marbled and thickly sliced,  without being too tenderized.  Just the way I like it!

Green Curry Chicken - served with some Rice Noodles
Apparently this is their Signature dish here.  It smelled really great too,  with a hint of coconut cream,  lemon grass,  and also small Thai Eggplants.  It's actually not that chili,  but somehow it was enough to make me sweat a bit : D

Husks on Red Rice -
We all loved this rice on the table... its got a nice flavor to it,  and surprisingly,  apparently this was not even seasoned with salt or any sauce.  Somehow it carried its own sweetness after being boiled well.

Fried Plantain Bananas,  with Thai Milk Tea Ice Cream -
That ice cream!!  Why is Thai tea so attractive,  it's almost like perfumed.

Mango Crepe,  with Mango Ice Cream -

Chef Explaining her New Dishes to us on the Table -
I haven't been back here for a few years,  but I am absolutely loving their new dishes.  Definitely have to come back more for them,  and for that Lobster and Fried Oysters..
