Tubino is opened by a Chinese-Italian immigrant who operates four Chinese and Italian restaurants within Italy.. Caffè Tubino meanwhile is also a brand name of Italian Coffee which is served here in their latest HK restaurant venture ~ how convenient...
I am not usually that much into imported Italian Coffees, as you can probably guess (except the Barbera artisanal ones), but to name your restaurant after a coffee brand, you’d better hope they make a killer of one…

Espresso -
Machine set up is around the correct calibration parameters, coffee beans were requested to be grinded new rather than using older pre-grinded ones as existing in Doser. Coffee maker happily obliged. Flavours a bit subdued due to freshness problems, but luckily no signs of unnecessary bitterness - 6.5/10
Cappuccino -
Made in the traditional Italian Scurro way (dry foam type),
it had a fair bit of aerated but irregular bubbles. The foam part was too over-stretched and became cold quickly, but if you can appreciate the authentic Italian Cappuccino without any velvety foam like a Cappuccino Chiaro (wet type), this tasted acceptable as the base espresso was done well enough -
7/10
Price: $28 per person
Coffee Score: ★★★☆☆☆
*Service here is very friendly and I believe they will improve over time, I will be back to try their lunch or dinner soon…
